Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley are working hard behind bars.
According to Savannah Chrisley, both of her parents are not only taking classes in prison while serving out their respective prison sentences for tax fraud, they're also instructing their fellow inmates as well.
"Dad's definitely taught some classes too," the 26-year-old shared on the Oct. 3 episode of her Unlocked podcast. "Trauma is one of them. I think another one was a financial class, which, how ironic?"
The Chrisley Knows Best alum went on to explain the classes are part of the First Step Act, a federal program established in 2018 to help prisoners with their readmission into society after serving their sentences.
As for what classes her mom has been into, Savannah noted, "She taught a real estate class, she's got all these certificates from teaching and completing classes and all these things. Overachiever Julie is. Always been."
The reality stars reported to prison in January after being found guilty of wire fraud and conspiracy to commit bank fraud charges. Todd and Julie, who are currently appealing their convictions, were subsequently sentenced to 12 and seven years in prison. However, last month they had their sentenced reduced.
Todd—who is in the Federal Correctional Institution (FPI) Pensacola—had his prison release moved up to Jan. 22, 2033, two years earlier than originally scheduled. Meanwhile, Julie—who is spending her time at FMC Lexington in Kentucky—will now be out Oct. 19, 2028, a year and three months earlier than her initial release date.
As for how the couple is doing today?
"Yesterday was exactly eight months since mom and dad had been gone, and it really hits," Savannah noted on the recent episode. "I think it hit everyone pretty hard. I know for me, the kids and I just hung out at the house all day yesterday, and we all were just in our own kinda weird moods. It's sad, because you think of all the life that is moving on without them and even just me dating. I would love to go and tell my mom anytime something good happens or anytime something bad happens. But it's not like I can pick up the phone and call. And so it's really sad to see the amount of things they're missing out on."
Savannah's latest update on her parents comes several weeks after she slammed a report claiming Todd and Julie plan to divorce.
"That is a lie," she insisted on her Instagram last month, "and the only reason I'm speaking about the National Enquirer is because, frankly, you should be held accountable for all of your lies. The fact that you are going out here trying to wreak havoc on people's lives with a lie is absolutely insane."
