Nikki Garcia and Artem Chigvintsev's week has taken an unexpected turn.
The Dancing With the Stars pro was arrested for domestic violence on Aug. 29 in Napa, Calif. However, just three days before the 42-year-old was taken into custody, Chigvintsev posted a tribute to his wife on the second anniversary of their Paris wedding.
"Happy anniversary my love," Chigvintsev—who shares 4-year-old son Matteo with Garcia—shared on Instagram Aug. 26 along with several stunning pics of their 2022 ceremony. "Can’t see my life with out you. You are my everything."
The next day, Garcia wrote her own appreciation post on Instagram.
Referencing their favorite song "Can't Help Falling in Love," the former WWE star gushed, "This song is our love story. I’ll never forget where I was when I asked Jesus about Artem. Having a conversation with He & God. How my feelings felt too soon. It all felt too fast."
She continued, "And then this song came on. And that’s when I knew that I was falling in love with him and that it was all meant to be. Happy Anniversary @theartemc I love you!"
It remains unclear if Garcia was involved in the incident that led to Chigvintsev's arrest. According to her social media, she was in Napa the day before the incident.
“Got a facial today!” Garcia wrote in her Instagram Story on Aug. 28. “Love my spot in downtown Napa @nude.medical."
E! News has reached out to Chigvintsev's rep and Garcia's rep for comment on the arrest but has not yet heard back.
Nine months prior to Chigvintsev's legal troubles, Garcia revealed his desire to have a second child.
"Artem wants number two," she told E! News in November, "I'm good with one."
After all, Matteo has changed her world, as Garcia called him "my heart and soul" while celebrating his birthday in July.
"The moment I gave birth to you everything changed for the better," she wrote on Instagram at the time. "I became better. No greater purpose I have in the world now than you. Thank you my sweet boy for changing my perspective on life."
Her message continued, "I just have never ever felt such love like this. Sooo unconditional. I have never been so happy Matteo. You make Mommy smile like never before! I just can’t stop smiling and laughing with you. I love our adventures together, I love everything we’ve been through together, it has made us so attached and bonded, you truly are my ride or die for life."
