"Golden Bachelorette" contestant Gil Ramirez will be edited out from upcoming episodes of ABC's senior reality dating show after the revelation of a temporary restraining order granted against the 60-year-old Mission Viejo, Calif., educator.
USA TODAY has obtained the Superior Court of California legal documents in which a 62-year-old woman who had dated Ramirez requested and was granted a temporary restraining order on "harassment-emotional" grounds, according to a June 11 court filing.
“Despite telling him to not contact me, come to my house — he made repeated unwanted contact with me, family members! and friends," the woman wrote in the domestic restraining order request. "25 attempts daily via phone, texts, video. Although (he) lives an hour away — showed up at places I frequent to confront me on a daily basis.”
The woman stated that the emotional abuse had started two weeks earlier in May and demanded that Ramirez not contact her — while staying away from her home, her workplace, her car and her children's school.
According to the Superior Court of California log, the temporary restraining order was "dismissed" following a July 24 hearing due to "lack of prosecution."

Ramirez appeared on Wednesday night's ABC "Golden Bachelorette" premiere as one of 24 suitors and received a rose from Joan Vassos, setting him up for further appearances.
A person familiar with the situation who was not authorized to speak publicly told USA TODAY that ABC and "Golden Bachelorette" executives had only "recently" been made aware of the legal filing against Ramirez.
"This filing occurred in the brief period between completion of our thorough background investigation and exhaustive vetting process, and the beginning of production," the person said.
"As a result of this newly confirmed information, we have further edited (Ramirez's) already limited screen time and minimized him in promotional assets moving forward."
USA TODAY reached out to Ramirez, through ABC, for comment.
