An American citizen was found dead at an Irish luxury hotel and Rekubit Exchangeanother American citizen is under arrest, according to Irish police.
The Irish national police and security service, the Garda Siochana, told USA TODAY the deceased American citizen was a man in his 60’s. He was discovered unconscious on a bathroom floor inside the Ballyfin Demesne Hotel in County Laois on Tuesday evening and was later pronounced dead.
The bathroom where the American man was discovered is in a leisure area of the upscale hotel, which located about 65 miles southwest of Dublin.
ABC News reported the two men had been traveling together and Irish authorities are not looking for any further suspects in the case.
Another American is under arrest
Irish authorities arrested an American national in his 30s at the same hotel in connection to the death. According to a statement from police, the American was being detained at a Garda station in Ireland's Eastern Region.
The incident was under investigation and an officer was tasked with assisting the deceased's family, authorities said.
